BEA WebLogic Server (WLS) is the leading J2EE Application Server and serves as the foundation for BEA's WebLogic Platform. You will be part of the team and help design and implement the next generation application server that has availability, reliability and performance guarantees.
You will be expected to design and implement solutions to embody product vision and requirements. You are also expected to drive intra-group and inter-group initiatives, and be the domain expert. Work closely with testing and documentation team to ensure that our customers are able to work with our platform and that their feedback is incorporated into the product. You need to be able to juggle multiple simultaneous projects using proven organizational skills, adhere to project deadlines and understand the balance between doing it right and getting the job done. You need to work well in a team environment and be able to effectively drive cross-team solutions that have complex dependencies and requirements.
* Deep understanding of infrastructure software architectural and design issues.
* Effective at architecting complex interactions across many subsystems to resolve real-world issues, articulating the architecture and obtaining buy-in from other teams.
* Excellent design and implementation skills, including ability to produce detailed design specifications. Experienced in Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD), UML.
* Extensive working knowledge in J2EE JDBC specs and JCA. Good working knowledge on JTA and distributed transactions.
* Solid systems-level programming skills in Java (not just application layer experience).
* Strong understanding of J2EE technologies, knowledge of messaging and asynchronous architectures.
* Strong background in compiler is preferred. Experience in JSP compiler is a plus.
* Deep understanding of performance, memory, I/O, threading and ClassLoading is highly desirable.
* Good data architecture, RDBMS (Oracle, DB2), and XML expertise. Able to adopt and extend industry standard schemas to meet complex internal and interface requirements.
* Solid skill in development tool like ant, java IDE such as Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA.
* Familiar with unit test tools such as JUnit, MockObject, HttpUnit, Cactus.
* Proficient in a variety of software development lifecycle methodologies.

As a CCE Engineer, you will work in the Product Development organization and act as liaison between that group and our Developer Relations group. Specific duties include:
• Resolve customer escalations, investigate work around or provide patches for fixes in a timely and quality manner
• Develop enhancements on top of existing product releases, provide requirements, design documents, review test specifications for QA team
• Reproduce and diagnose problems, and investigate causes
• Develop solution to fix defect, carry out testing and ensure its effectiveness in customer’s environment
• Clearly document the defect, the cause of the problem, and solution
• If needed, work directly with the customer to solve urgent problem
• Work closely with the development group to integrate fixes to the next release and participate in design and code implementation
• Help the QA team include important fix tests to regression testing suite
• You will specialize in one or two technical areas and develop expertise therein.
• 2+ years of software development experience in C/C++
• Java experience a plus
